Father's Day Weekend

What a busy month this has been.

Mark and I spent half of Father's day weekend alone. Can you believe it? ALONE. The rest of the family had rented a place up in Franconia NH for the week and took off on that Friday. All were invited to go but Mark and I decided to stay home and spend a little time without kids or grandchildren. Well, I have to admit, it was quiet...but nice. We got up early on Saturday, did some errands which included buying flats of flowers and some veggies to plant for the deck. We came home, planted all the flowers and vegetables, Mark cut the lawn and I cleaned up all the potting soil, empty containers and did some yard cleanup. Afterward, we packed up the fishing gear and took off to Plum Island. I of course, did not fish but I enjoyed sitting on the beach watching Mark. Unfortunately, he didn't have much, or should I say any luck but he had fun anyway. We went to a few different places and after a few hours, we came home and got a pizza and watched a movie.
Sunday morning, we, once again, got up early and headed up north to be with the rest of the family for Father's Day. Because it was the annual bikers week up in Laconia, we saw loads and loads of bikers on our way up. We stopped at a diner for breakfast (I forget where) and the place was packed with wet, tired bikers. I guess I should add here, it rained the whole way there.

Anyway, we had a great day once we got to Franconia. The sun came out from time to time so the day wasn't a total washout. We drove to Clark's Trading Post and what a trip that was. It's absolutely mind boggling to me that here I was with my grandchildren at Clark's when just yesterday I was there with my three little girls, showing them the bears and the "choo choo". Hang on, I need to get a tissue. We drove around the mountains and by late afternoon we returned to the lodge to take the babies, including the big babies lol, in the pool and to have supper. By 7:30 Mark and I, Scott, Ashley and Cora, were on the road home. It was a really nice day. I was happy that Mark got to spend Father's day with his girl's and grandchildren and that I got to be with my mom and dad as well. And since my sister Paula wasn't able to be there, we celebrated our official Father's day this past weekend at our house. Again, another rainy day but a good one at that.

We weren't there to see the bear, but Krista, Erika and the rest of them saw this bear during the week. Pretty cool huh?

That's it for today,

Hope you're enjoying your day,

Janice
